A sub-chief of Awutu Traditional Council has been shot dead while three other persons are also in critical condition after a group of land guards numbering 10 launched deadly gun attack against them over disputed land at Awutu Kwao Bondze near Kasoa in the Central Region.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, September 23, 2020.
The deceased sub-chief Asofohene to Awutu Mponuahene went on to the disputed land to pay labourers who were constructing a wall around the disputed parcel of land when the landguards who had laid ambush opened fire on him.
Speaking to Bryt FM News Central Regional Correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah, Yaw Buabeng One of the labourers who survived the gun attack said, and the landguards opened fire shortly after the Asafohene arrived at the site to pay them leading to his death but they managed to escape.
He said many sustained gunshot wounds.
An Estate developer called Kofai has been accused of masterminding the attack.
The Mponuahene of Awutu Traditional Council, Nai Kwabena Atopi (i) appeals to the Inspector General of Police James Oppong-Buanuh to deploy armed Police to the area to arrest the suspects for Prosecution to avert reprisal attack.
