Some Ghanaians are calling on Minister for Foreign Affairs designate to resign immediately over the establishment of Homosexuality office in the Country.
According to them, the Minister, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway who served under President Akufo-Addo’s administration from 2017 to January 2021 must be held responsible for the presence of the Office in Ghana.
The Ghana Catholic Bishops Conference and the Pentecostal and Charismatic Council have called for the closure of their office believed to be located in Tesano-Accra.
The report indicates that Lesbians, gays, Bi Sexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Right Ghana through the European Union office in Accra and the Rights Ghana held a fundraiser for a new Community space in Accra on 31st January 2021.
But Ghanaians, who called on Radio and Television programs, as well as other Social media platforms, are calling on the resignation of the Foreign Minister-designate over her alleged involvement and knowledge about the office.
They are also calling on the President as matter of urgency to come out and declare the Government’s stand on Homosexuality.
They also called on the Security Agencies to deal with people involved in the activities and warned those fighting for Homosexuals’ right to stop immediately.
Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Samuel Nartey George has urged the Foreign Affairs Minister to extradite the European Union representatives who aided the commissioning of the Homosexuals office in Ghana.
