Dreams FC’s guardsman Issah Yakubu is hopeful that he will receive his maiden call up to the Black Stars under Coach Charles Akonnor.
He had a scintillating performance for the Dawu based club before the suspension of the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season in March.
Yakubu, who was part of the provisional U23 squad for Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt could not make it to the tournament proper after he was dropped.
According to him, he will work tirelessly to get a call-up under new coach CK Akonnor, saying it is the dream of every player to don the national colors.
“My target as a player is to play in Europe and also play for the Black stars and I know for sure it will come to reality”
“Every player wants to play for his country and ones I am a Ghanaian and features in the GPL, I know definitely that my time will come”
“Patience and hard training are all that I need for now to get Black Stars call-up. So I know if I fight hard I will get the opportunity to play for the team” he told Bryt 99.1 FM in an interview
