Angry youth of Asuboi a community near Suhum in the Eastern Region on Tuesday morning pursued and arrested two suspected armed robbers for robbing a mobile money agent at gunpoint.
The robbers said to be on a motorbike allegedly robbed the mobile money agent under the guise of making a transaction.
They suddenly pulled a gun on the female mobile money agent and ordered her to hand over a bag containing the money.
The robbers hurriedly jumped on the motorbike and attempted to escape with the bag with an amount of Ghc2000 but were pursued with motorbikes by the youth in the community.
The robbers were captured in a Rambo style by the youth.
The mob stripped them naked; beat them to a pulp till they became unconscious.
An eyewitness said one of the robbers was motionless hence feared dead.
They have however been rushed to Suhum government hospital by the Police.
Mobile Money robbery in the country has increased in recent times with calls by agents for protection.
