The Deputy Minister for Health, Dr. Bernard Oko Boye has cut sod for work to begin on forty (40) – bed hospital facilities at Kwahu- Nkwatia and a Polyclinic at Jumapo in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The two facilities which will be executed by the VAAMED construction firm are expected to be completed in 30 months.
According to the Deputy Minister for Health; Honourable Dr. Bernard Oko Boye, Government has secured 70 million Euros to build 12 health facilities including Jumapo, Nkwatia, Adukrom, and Kwabeng.
These projects, he said are part of the government’s effort to achieve the universal health goal. He disclosed that the government has recruited over Ninety Three thousand health workers including radiographers, lab technicians, allied health nurses, among others to end nurse-to-patient ratio in the country.
The Eastern Regional Minister, Honourable Eric Kwakye Darfour, underscored the importance of health facility in nation-building.
He said health is wealth therefore imperative for the beneficiary Communities to support the project to be completed on time.
The Member of Parliament for New Juaben North, Nana Adjei Boateng thanked President Akufo-Addo for giving them their share of the 111 health facilities promised to build to bridge the health gap deficit in the country.
The Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben North, Honourable Comfort Asante, said the NPP government has demonstrated their commitment to transforming the country to make it a better hub for living. She, therefore, appealed to Ghanaians to vote massively for them in the upcoming general elections to achieve this dream.
The two facilities when completed will have an outpatient Department, antenatal consulting rooms, recovery, and maternity wards, among others.
