The Eastern Regional Office of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has celebrated an impressive performance in 2025, emerging as the second-best region nationwide and securing multiple awards for excellence.
Speaking at a media briefing held at the ECG Durbar Hall in Koforidua on April 15, 2026, the General Manager for the Eastern Region, Ing. Emmanuel Appoe, highlighted the region’s achievements and reaffirmed its commitment to improved service delivery.
According to him, the recognition followed a recent ECG Regional and Districts Strategic Summit and Awards Dinner held in Accra, where the Eastern Region outperformed many others, sweeping the highest number of awards. The region secured five special awards and three regular awards, placing it second overall in the country.
Among the notable achievements, the Akim Oda District received the Managing Director’s Special Award for exceptional performance. The Kibi District was adjudged the second-best district nationwide and also emerged as the best-performing district in the region. Nkawkaw District was recognized for Best Revenue Performance, while Akwatia District earned the title of Most Improved District.
Additionally, Kibi, Begoro, and Mpraeso districts were ranked first, second, and third respectively among the top-performing districts in the region.
Ing. Appoe attributed the success to strong leadership, strategic direction, and a supportive working environment provided by ECG’s head office. He noted that these factors have played a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency and improving customer service across the region.
He expressed gratitude to management for their continuous support and emphasized that the achievements would serve as motivation for the region to raise its standards even higher.
The General Manager also assured customers of ECG’s commitment to delivering improved and reliable services, stating that the awards have inspired the team to go the extra mile in meeting customer expectations.
He reaffirmed the Eastern Region’s dedication to sustaining its performance and striving for even greater excellence in the years ahead.
