The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority, NYA, Pius Enam Hadzide continues to advance his political influence in the politics of the Asuogyaman constituency as he eyes the Parliamentary seats.
He is using community social work and donations to penetrate the crust of the Asuogyaman politics ahead of the ruling NPP primaries next year.
On Wednesday, February 16, Pius stated that “I resumed distribution of the 28,000 exercise books to the students of the Asuogyaman district today by visiting the Dodi Island, Dodi Asantekrom, Boso and Anum zones. I had earlier visited Kudikope, Mpamproase, Anyaase, Asegya, Surveyline, Gyakiti, Adumasa, Agyena, Agyena Donor, Sedom, Yeniama, Manya Yoyim, Ponponya, Nyameben, Sapor, Tortibo, Pupuni and Kokono”
This he said was done “under my Education Support program and in conjunction with the District Directorate of Education, the Asuogyaman Science and Maths Quiz is also in the offing. Education is a great leveler and is key to my agenda. I am grateful to the District Director, staff of the GES, and executives of the Asuogyaman NPP for their support”
Surprisingly, the 2020 Parliamentary candidate of the NPP Paul Asare Ansah has also popped up again to also donate exercise books to school children in Constituency I which appears to be a clear challenge to Pius Enam Hadzide.
The Chief Executive Officer for National Youth Authority Pius Enam Hadzide is eyeing to contest Asuogyaman Parliamentary primaries for the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP, in Eastern Region.
Pius who partly hails from Asuogyaman and lived and worked as a teacher in Constituency will contest Hon. Ampem Nyarko, the incumbent MP should be re-elected to contest for the third time.
He is embarking on Community engagements and Community developments in the Constituency to court public support.
He has met polling stations and constituency executives to declare his intent.
NPP’s attempt to snatch the Asuogyaman seat in 2020 failed.
The party’s candidate Paul Asare Ansah was defeated by the incumbent NDC MP Thomas Ampem Nyarko in the 2020 parliamentary election who retained the seat for the second term.
The incumbent MP polled 24, 470 votes to beat his main contender Paul Asare Ansah who had 23, 232 votes from the 145 polling stations in the Constituency.
The NDC MP managed to break the one-term parliamentary jinx in the Asuogyaman Constituency by beating Paul Ansah with over 1,000 votes.
Paul Ansah invested heavily and monetized his campaign but was still rejected.
Thomas Ampem Nyarko, the MP is loved by the people for his humility in service and hard work.
