In a major step forward for environmental protection and climate action, the Environmental Protection Authority today officially launched the Guidelines for Inspection, Monitoring, and Reporting of Fugitive Methane Emissions from Oil and Gas Operations in Ghana.
The purpose of this Guideline is to establish the mechanisms and actions that operators must adopt to prevent, monitor, and control methane emissions from petroleum operations.
Hosted at The Palms by Eagles (Holiday Inn) in Accra, the launch brought together key policy leaders, industry operators, civil society organizations, and development partners to establish clear frameworks for reducing greenhouse gas emissions across the nation’s upstream and midstream petroleum sectors.
