Energy Expert Sampson Addai has encouraged Ghanaians to view the current LPG prices in perspective, despite recent increases, they remain favorable compared to last year.
In an interview with Kwamina Sam Biney, Bryt Adekye Mu Nsem, Mr. Addai noted that the cost of LPG per kilogram decreased from 14gh to 9gh this year.
It’s still below last year’s levels despite the recent spike to 11gh, or even 10gh in certain areas, which is something to be grateful for.
โWe should be grateful for the current price because, although it has increased, it hasn’t reached last year’s level. Last year, prices were 14gh per kilogram; this year, they were 9gh, and now they are 11gh, with some even selling for 10ghโ. He emphasized
Mr. Addai believes that an end to the current conflict could have a favorable effect on prices. stating that since the cedi is presently worth more than the dollar, a drop in its price might help down LPG expenses even further. The government can regulate fuel to some extent, but it cannot control every element that affects the price.
