Mr Kofi Twum, Deputy Registrar & Public Relations Officer of Akenten Appiah Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development ( AAMUSTED) in Kumasi- Tanoso, has said no nation would be successful if technical and vocational education is not resourced to meet the global trend of education.
He indicated that technical and vocational has become instrumental due to dynamic technological advancement.
According to him, all the developed countries focus much on technical and vocational education and hails the New Patriotic Party government on reforms and supply of logistics to boost the TVET education in the country.
When asked what vision the University has on TVET education, he hinted that government see the significance of technical and vocation education and therefore proposed a change of the university status from the University of Education, Winneba to Entrepreneurial Training University to produce more entrepreneurship graduates to support the economy driven.
The Akufo-Addo led government has shown much interest in technical and vocational education since its assumption into office in 2017.
The government has however officially enrolled such public educational institutions under the free SHS policy to ensure students of such schools would also have the opportunity of enjoying the national cake and also inspire most students to do such courses.
