Henry Kwabena Kokofu, a lost contender for Ashanti Regional Chairmanship, promised the victor that he would assist the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in order to guaranty Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s election as Ghana’s president.
Henry Kwabena Kokofu, who received 269 votes in the chairmanship contest, stated on social media that he is still committed to the NPP.
His post read, “Dr. Henry Kwabena Kokofu says “THANK YOU” to everyone who supported his dream. He remains committed to serving NPP for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to become President”.
Henry Kwabena Kokofu joined the race to become Ashanti Regional Chairman very late, but his campaign to become Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party was fierce.
However, he polled 269 of the votes cast on the day, while Odeneho Kwaku Appiah polled 663 to win the keenly contested position.
