Ghanaian songstress, Belinda Ekua Amoah famed as Mzbel has disclosed that she wasn’t 16 years when she recorded her hit song ’16 years’ as people think.
According to her, she looked smallish at that time when she released the song and for that matter, people think she was actually 16 years when the song was released.
She made this known during an interview with Pulse TV.
“When I did 16 years, I wasn’t 16 years when I recorded the song, I was 23 going to 24. It was just a song. And see this amazing song, that went everywhere. I was just playing the role of a 16-year-old girl to suit the song. Indeed, the song was huge in Nigeria and also in most Africa countries”, she revealed
Mzbel featured Castro on that song which indeed skyrocketed Mzbel into fame.
Adding that even though the song became a banger both locally and internationally, it never won a Ghana Music Award.
