Alhaji Masawudu, the national third vice chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), often known as Buga, has claimed that intellectuals should only hold three positions in the NPP.
He claims that the only roles that are exclusive to intellectuals are those of Chairman, General Secretary, and Communications Director.
He asserts that, aside from these roles, persons who are part of the streets and are willing to put up their best effort should fill the other posts.
The NPP’s vise chairman expressed this viewpoint while speaking on Neat FM in Accra.
“In the NPP, there are only three positions that should be occupied by intellectuals. The positions are Chairman because you’ll have to meet people, General Secretary because you are the CEO of the party and the Communications Director because you’ll have to use facts to communicate.
If you have intellectuals occupying these positions, all you need to do is have buga people occupying women organizer, organizer, youth organizer and the vice Chairman position. This is what will help us win the elections,” he said.
