Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Deputy General Secretary Nana Obiri Boahen has asked former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong to leave the party if he no longer wishes to remain a member.
In an interview with Okay FM, Obiri Boahen stated that the party was becoming tense due to Kennedy Agyapong’s frequent insults and critiques, and that members were becoming irritated with his attitude.
He stated that, while he does not support Kennedy Agyapong’s expulsion through the party’s disciplinary processes, he believes the former MP should voluntarily resign down if he is dissatisfied.
“We are saying that Ken, as an adult says, when the stream overflows and catches the frog, it makes noise. Now we are tired… Ken today this, tomorrow that, we are tired of you,” he said.
Obiri Boahen added, “Just leave the party and go, that’s all. If the disciplinary committee asks for my opinion, I won’t recommend sacking him. Instead, they should talk things out. But if he feels he is tired, then he should just leave and stop the threats”, he stated.
