Honorable Frank Annor Dompreh, Member of Parliament for Nsawam/Adoagyiri Constituency in the Eastern Region have said they spend more than the amount given to them as the end of service benefit for serving four years in Parliament.
According to him, each member of Parliament receives about ¢200,000.00 as End of Service Benefit popularly known as Ex-Glatia which he described as little for a member of Parliament who served the Country and dedicated his or her life for four years.
Speaking on the Personality Profile program on Joy FM, Mr. Annor Dompreh said it is time for all members of parliament to reveal details of their benefits to the electorates who normally think that people go to parliament to make money.
Mr. Annoh Dompreh, who doubles as Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Foreign Affairs of the 7th Parliament of the 4th Republic in Ghana said” We use our own pocket money as a donation during the funeral, church program, pay our drivers, donation to the needy and other activities which people normally invites MP to do something”.
He said Members of Parliament are overburden and people think everything needed in the Constituency must be provided by the MP, adding, when an MP fails to release money for certain things, people begin to unseat you.
The MP reiterated his commitment to do his best for the people in his Constituency despite challenges because the people voted for him for change.
