The largest Telecommunication, MTN Ghana has added its voice to the global drive to raise awareness about the importance of wearing face masks to prevent Covid-19 infection.
To help drive this much-needed change in behavior, MTN Ghana is committed to encouraging everyone to adopt wearing masks to save lives.
It is believed that wearing masks remains one of the most effective preventative measures to slow the spread of the virus, however; many people remain reluctant to wear them, wear them incorrectly, or still feel it is not important.
The Area Sales Manager (ASM) for Eastern, Oti and Volta Regions, Mr. Stephen Asare, averred that this fight calls for concerted efforts, Wearing a mask correctly is something each one of us can do to protect ourselves and loved ones for it has been proven to be one of the most effective preventive methods in slowing and stopping the spread of the Corona Virus.
He has however encouraged Ghanaians to wear the mask correctly to continue observing the other Standard Operating Procedures including staying at home where possible, social distancing as well as hand washing and sanitizing among others.
This came to light when MTN presented 3000 face masks to the staff of the Eastern regional hospital. The donation is in furtherance of what they say is their ‘major role’ to play in the fight against COVID-19.
