Chief of Effiduase in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern region, Nana Okoawia Dwomo Baabu has rather asked for another eight more years for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) instead of the ‘Four more for Nana’ slogan.
According to the Nifahene of the New Juaben Traditional Council, the achievements of President Akufo-Addo-led NPP have performed creditably even more than Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
Speaking at a sod-cutting ceremony to construct an ultra-modern Police Administration block at Effiduase on Thursday, 8th October 2020, the Chief revealed that Dr. Kwame Nkrumah came to meet money left by the British when he assumed into office after independence as compared to the current President who had nothing to lean on after he was elected into power.
“Let me emphasize this for everyone to note, Kwame Nkrumah came to meet money but President Akufo-Addo came to meet nothing from his predecessor” he stressed.
Nana Okoawia Dwomo Baabu emphasized some policies such as; planting for food and jobs, planting for food and rural development, improvement in the health sector, educational infrastructure among many others as good interventions by the Akufo-Addo led the government to improve the lives of the ordinary Ghanaian.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for the area who is also the Deputy Local Government and Rural Development minister, Nana Adjei Boateng in his speech also assured the people of government continuous support to the security of the nation and urged all and sundry to support in achieving that agenda.
He added the NPP would continue to spearhead the security agenda of the country to ensure both the people and properties are well protected since it is the core mandate of the police.
He, however, appealed to the people to extend the tenure of President Akufo-Addo for another term to be able to complete the many projects imitated.
On her part, the Municipal Chief Executive, Madam Comfort Asante was grateful to the government, MP, and the traditional authority for their continuous assistance to the growth of the New municipality since coming into being barely three years ago.
She assured the contractor and the consultant of her outfit support to ensure the successful completion of the project in time.
The edifice is a one-storey with offices, armory room, both male and female wards, a conference room, and it is expected to be completed in the next three months.
