Okuapehene Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III on Saturday, April 3, 2021, celebrated Easter with his subjects.
The Okuapehene held a mini durbar at the forecourt of the Okuapehene’s palace where he celebrated Easter with his subjects and some sub-chiefs, queens as well as Adikrofo in smaller towns under Okuapeman.
Gifts were shared with Children and the elderly during the event.
Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III -Okuapehene used the occasion to wish his people a happy Easter and called for unity, peace, and love among his subjects.
As a Staunch Presbyterian, Okuapehene upholds Easter as very sacred and believes it is a period to show love especially to the elderly in reflection of the greatest love and sacrifice made by Jesus Christ to humanity.
He wished his subjects well in all their exploits and prayed for a fruitful year and forward March of Okuapeman in terms of development.
Nana Kwame Odiagoro Kuma-Okuapem Guantoahene told mybrytfmonline.com after the durbar that, Okuapehene is a Christian in good standing, therefore, believes in death and resurrection of Jesus Christ the savior hence the celebration of Easter with his subjects.
He was hopeful that, Easter celebration which is not synonymous to Okuapeman will now be part of the annual calendar aside from the Odwira in the expression of appreciation to the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ on the cross to humanity for same to be extended to children and the elderly and used the occasion to preach peace and development.
Nana Kwame Odiagoro dispelled the rumor that the Okuapehene initiated the mini durbar during Easter to reaffirm to his subjects that he has not been destooled and that still the Okuapehene.
