Reduction of fuel on Tuesday, 15th November 2022 was a direct intervention by the government through the Bank of Ghana to make enough forex available to players in the petroleum import market, New Patriotic Party Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye has revealed.
Prices of fuel at the pump were reduced by Ghc3 for diesel and Ghc1 for petrol with LPG gaining an increment.
It would be recalled that among the 12 measures President Akufo-Addo highlighted in his last address to the nation was to tackle the cost of living by working to stabilize the prices of petroleum products through new supply arrangements.
According to Nana B, affectionately called, the measure has started yielding fruits and we hope that external factors that affect fuel prices would not erode the gains being made in a steady manner.
He said, “Ghanaians should keep hope alive and support the government to tactfully stem the tide in the prevalent global twin crisis”.
