Ghanaian Award-winning Gospel musician, Ohemaa Mercy has disclosed that sales on social media fetch more income than the sales of the album.
To her, sales on social media are far better than CD sales because releasing single music even helps in promotion and also grows the impact of the music it has been released.
Speaking in an interview on a Kumasi based radio station, Ohemaa Mercy admitted that many things have changed in the music industry, yet she can be bold to say social media is so powerful consequently the avenue of the social media including Youtube, iTunes among other since it grabs more sales than album sales and CDs.
On the other hand, some veteran musicians also stressed that social media has made them lose a lot of money after it took over the traditional method of album selling.
Whiles the new crop of musicians praises the new platform, the old ones who are not acquainted with the new opportunity say it has rather come to collapse the business.
