Samuel Osei Sarkodie, an entrepreneur, philanthropist and financial expert with a strong background in academia, has picked up nomination forms to contest the position of Eastern Regional Youth Organiser of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the party’s Regional Delegates Conference.
The nomination forms were picked on his behalf by Nana Agyabeng Boateng, the Abokomahene of Koforidua-Asokore, who described Mr. Osei Sarkodie, popularly known as SOS, as a humble, dedicated and widely respected individual with the support of traditional leaders and members of the community.

“He has the passion, commitment and capacity to work tirelessly to strengthen the party and move the Eastern Region to greater heights,” he said.
After submitting his nomination forms at the NPP Eastern Regional Office, Mr. Osei Sarkodie told Bryt FM News that he was ready to dedicate his experience and energy to rebuilding the party and helping it recapture political power in the 2028 general elections.
According to him, if elected, he will implement strategic youth-focused programmes aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots structures, attracting more young people to the NPP and enhancing support systems for party members across the region.
The Regional Delegates Conference, where delegates will elect new regional executives, is scheduled for August 15 and 16, 2026, following revised dates approved by the party’s National Steering Committee.

NPP Reorganisation
The Regional Executive Elections form part of the NPP’s nationwide internal reorganisation exercise initiated following the recommendations of the Prof. Mike Oquaye Election Review Committee, established after the party’s defeat in the 2024 general election.
The party has already completed polling station, electoral area and constituency executive elections, with the regional polls representing the penultimate stage before the election of national executives.
To ensure a smooth electoral process, each Regional Executive Committee has been directed to submit the composition of its Regional Elections Committee (REC) to the National Secretariat.
The REC comprises a representative of the Regional Executive Committee, a representative of the Regional Parliamentary Caucus, the Chairman of the Regional Council of Elders, the Chairman of the Regional Council of Patrons, the Regional Research and Elections Officer, and the Regional IT Officer.
