The Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Akwatia Constituency of the Eastern Region who has survived from Novel COVID-19, Mr. Samuel Owusu Saforo has advised Ghanaians who don’t know their status of the deadly virus to avoid self-medication in this critical period.
According to him, it is best for people who fall sick to visit the Hospital for checkup than to go to a Drug store and buy any medicine, adding, he nearly dies after he tried three different Malaria medicines that he was sick in the middle of June 2020.
Speaking to Kofi Atakora, Morning show host of Asamankese base Nkunim FM, Mr. Samuel Owusu Saforo called on Ghanaians to be serious with COVID-19 and stop politicizing it and join hands to avert the spread.
Mr. Saforo, who was admitted to St. Dominic Hospital in Akwatia for treatment expressed appreciation to Health Workers for their dedicated service and urged Ghanaians to support the government to provide Personal Protective Equipment for them.
Sharing experience on the Virus, the NPP Communication Director said he started experiencing malaria symptoms and decided to take some drugs but could not cure after one week.
He said his illness affected his throat and could not breathe and drink and was later rushed to St. Dominic Hospital.
The recovered man said lost hope after his sample was taken and tested positive for COVID-19 but upon God’s intervention and hard work Doctors at the Hospital, things turned around after three days.
He however urged Ghanaians to observe the COVID-19 protocols and Restrictions.
