The Executive Director of the Rebecca Foundation and wife of President Akuffo Addo, Rebecca Akuffo Addo has urged children to take their reading serious in order to build for a better future.
According to her, reading enhances the quality of education and deepens the brain of children.
Mrs Rebecca Akuffo Addo made these comments when she opened a 40-seater computerized library facility in Moree in the Central region.
Mrs Akuffo-Addo highlighted that the Rebecca Foundation has so far built three (3) of such computerized libraries in the Dafiama Bissue Issah in the Upper West Region, Sefwi Debiso in the Western North Region and Wenchi in the Bono Region for children to develop the practice and delight in learning new things.
She continued that her foundation will soon construct three (3) more libraries at Kumawu in the Ashanti Region, Krachi East in the Oti Region and Achimota school in the Greater Accra Region.
“Our children need to read books each day as much as possible because learning new words, learning new things and writing on their own will improve their academic status,” she said.
