A woman in her fifties died instantly in the Asamankese market in the Eastern Region when a story building block fell on her and two others who are in critical condition now.
The incident occurred when workers of the Electricity Company Limited in Asamankese were changing High Tension wires which pulled some blocks at the top of the story building down, killing a woman and two others, One Tilapia Seller and a 12-year-old boy.
The deceased has been sent to Asamankese Government Hospital mortuary for further investigation.
West Akyem Municipal Director of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Mr. Kwasi Addo Annor in an interview said the Municipal Security Council and Works and Housing Committee shall meet and access primarily report he received from the scene and take necessary action.
He appealed to the market women to exercise patience as they are investigating the Tragedy and urged them not to attack workers of ECG and consoled the family of the deceased.
