Two (2) persons in Military uniform and four (4) others are in the grip of Kasoa Odupong Ofaakor District Police Command for allegedly shooting five persons and robbing a sand wining site in Awutu Kwao Bonzie in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.
Information gathered indicates that the suspects in Military Uniform could be landgaurds impersonating military officers who colluded with a local Chief of Awutu Traditional Council, Nai Atopi Popularly known in his private life as Michael Larbi to carry out the attack.
Some eyewitnesses narrated to Bryt FM News Correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah that they were at the site when the suspects besieged the place and violently started searching and ceasing their personal belongings at gunpoint.
This led to a confrontation in which the suspects opened fire leading to the injury of five persons.
The Police responded to the distress calls, stormed the scene, and arrested the suspects.
The victims, they say were rushed to Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital, Bawjiase Polyclinic for treatment.
Asafoakye of Odupong Ofaakor, Nai Kwakye Mensah urged the IGP to intervene to nip the land guard menace in the bud since it is a threat to security in the community.
All efforts made to get a response from the boundary Chief of Awutu -Nai Atopi on allegation of his complicity prove futile.
