Former Assin Central MP and presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kennedy Agyapong, has urged lawmakers and public to cease prioritizing party interests over the advancement of the country.
Regarding the Afari Military Hospital project, Agyapong stated that partisan perspectives should not be applied to Ghana’s advancements. He asserts that when the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) fall short on significant national objectives, they must both be prepared to take criticism.
He emphasized that if politicians keep defending their parties at all costs rather than stating the truth, the nation’s progress will suffer.
“We should love our nation and stop playing politics with everything and do the right thing for the country,” he told reporters on Tuesday, June 16.
Despite having the chance, Agyapong pointed out that the Afari Military Hospital project was not finished during the NPP’s eight years in power.
“For that reason, he said it would be unfair to place all the blame on the current administration while ignoring past shortcomings” he added.
