The Member of Parliament for Akwatia Constituency, Hon. Barnard Bediako Baidoo, has stated that President John Dramani Mahama remains committed to fulfilling his promise of ending the double-track system in senior high schools by 2027.
Speaking on Bryt FM’s Adekyee Mu Nsem programme, Hon. Baidoo explained that the President’s vision is to improve educational infrastructure across the country to enable all students to attend school under a single-track system.
According to the MP, the government is putting measures in place to expand school facilities, including the construction of additional classrooms, dormitories, and other essential infrastructure needed to accommodate the growing number of students.
He noted that the double-track system was introduced to address overcrowding in senior high schools, but the government is determined to phase it out by 2027 as promised.
Hon. Baidoo expressed confidence that work towards achieving this goal would begin in earnest when schools reopen, adding that the government is committed to ensuring quality education for every Ghanaian child.
He therefore urged students, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders to support the government’s efforts as it works towards eliminating the double-track system and improving the country’s educational sector.
