Ghanaian Gospel singer Florence Obinim stated that if her husband, Bishop Daniel Obinim, chooses to dissolve their marriage, she will not obstruct the divorce.
Her remarks coincide with an increasing amount of public discourse over their marital status in the wake of recent statements made by the founder of International God’s Way Church that stoked rumors of conflict between the couple.
Florence stated in an interview with GhPage that she has been a patient, courteous, and encouraging wife for years, but she hinted that her husband might not have acknowledged her efforts.
She said that if Bishop Obinim decides to pursue a divorce, she is willing to accept it.
“I have been humble and patient with Bishop, yet he still does not appreciate the kind of woman I am. May God’s will be done. If he is ready for a divorce, then I am ready too.”
Florence went on to say that at this point in their marriage, she doesn’t know what more her husband wants of her.
The singer also hinted that Bishop Obinim has opted to keep certain details of her private life private, cautioning that such disclosures might be awkward if made public.
“If I choose to speak about certain things that concern me about Bishop’s life, it would not be pleasant. There are things I am entitled to that would give me peace of mind, but if I am denied them, I simply stay quiet. If I need to buy or rent them myself, I go ahead and do so,” she said.
