Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the minority leader, has accused the NDC government of not keeping its pre-election pledges to Ghanaians.
Speaking at a press conference on May 26, 2026, he criticized the government of employing propaganda rather than producing results and called it dishonest.
“We are simply saying NDC is a scam. They don’t believe in what they say,” he stated.
Afenyo-Markin claims that the administration has not carried out its pledged “one job, three shifts” strategy.
“They promised one job, three shifts. As we speak, they have failed on that promise,” he said.
Additionally, he criticized the government over the price of cocoa, saying that the benefits promised to cocoa producers have not materialized.
“They told cocoa farmers that a bag of cocoa would sell at GH¢7,000, but they rather reduced it,” he claimed.
Afenyo-Markin added that local farmers are having difficulties as a result of government policies that do not support agriculture.
“Rice farmers are complaining, maize farmers are complaining, yam farmers are complaining,” he added.
He claimed that local producers are suffering because imported rice is now more affordable than rice grown nearby.
