The Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, has hosted the Financial Year 2025/2026 Audit Entry Meeting with a team from the Office of the Auditor-General (OAG), reaffirming the State Department’s unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and prudent management of public resources.
The PS emphasized that the audit process is a critical governance mechanism that strengthens institutional systems, enhances public confidence, and drives continuous improvement in service delivery. She assured the audit team of the State Department’s full compliance with public finance and procurement laws and pledged maximum cooperation to facilitate a thorough, objective, and timely audit exercise.
She further reaffirmed the State Department’s commitment to achieving a zero-fault audit by strengthening internal controls, promoting sound financial management, and fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous compliance across all operations.
The PS noted that as the State Department continues implementing transformative public health reforms to advance Universal Health Coverage, the audit presents an important opportunity to strengthen institutional performance and ensure that every public resource delivers value to the people of Kenya.
