Dutch Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar will not sell forward Myron Boadu in the winter transfer window.
The Dutch-born Ghanaian has been on the radar of several top European clubs, including AC Milan and Ajax.
However, AZ Alkmaar has ruled out selling the forward in January as they seek to compete with Ajax for the Eredivisie title.
AZ are interested in beefing up their squad, with the team limited in defence.
“It is quite likely that we will look for a central defender during the winter break,” said AZ trainer Arne Slot who has been forced to use Jordy Classie as a central defender.
“If we get a new defender, then it is not that he will immediately play if Jordy keeps doing so well,” says the AZ trainer.
AZ Alkmaar is currently the same on points with Ajax are the top of the Dutch Eredivisie.
They are also through to the last 32 of the Europa League.
Boadu has netted a staggering 15 goals in 23 matches in all competitions for the club.
