Two each Parliamentary candidates are contesting on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party and National Democratic Congress in 15 Constituencies in the Eastern Region in the December 7 poll.
The Constituencies with only two Parliamentary candidates are Asuogyaman, Yilo Krobo, Okere, Akuapim South, Nsawam Adoagyiri, Suhum, Upper West Akyem, and Akyem Swedru.
The rest are; Ofoase/Ayirebi, Akwatia, Abuakwa North, Atiwa East, Mpraeso, Abetifi, and Afram Plains South.
Akropong Constituency has the highest number of candidates which is five and they are Oheneba Dokua Asiamah-Adjei(Incumbent), Justice Kotey Amasah(NDC), Anakwa Gifty Mercy(CPP), Desmond Twumasi Ntow (PNC), and Adjei Twumasi William Kwabena (Independent candidate).
Constituencies with four candidates in the race are New Juaben North, Ayensuano, Abirim, Abuakwa South, Fanteakwa North, and Nkawkaw.
Other Constituencies with three candidates are Lower Manya Krobo, Upper Manya Krobo, New Juaben South, Lower West Akyem, Akyem Oda, Asene Manso Akroso, Achiase, Kade, Atiwa West, Fanteakwa South, and Afram Plains North.
A total of 92 Parliamentary candidates are in the race in the Eastern Region and a total of 1,641,050 people have registered in 33 Constituencies to participate in Ghana’s December 7, 2020 polls.
