The Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Lower West Akyem Constituency of the Eastern Region, Mr. Benjamin Yamoah has called on President Akufo-Addo to scrap the Railway Development and Parliamentary Affairs Ministries.
According to him, the Railway Ministry can be under the Transport Ministry, adding, the Parliamentary Affairs Ministry does not need at all.
Commenting on the list of Ministers designate which was released on 21st January, Mr. Yamoah said he was shocked for the reappointment of Mr. Kenneth Ofori Atta as Finance Minister, Mrs. Ursula Owusu Ekuffo as Communication and Digitization Minister, Mr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as Energy Minister, and Mr. Kwasi Amoako Atta as Roads Minister.
He said these Ministers disappointed Ghanaians and the President in his first term but Nana Akufo-Addo decided to consider his family members and friends again.
The Communication officer said the president could still reduce Ministries from 28 to 20 and said reducing Ministers from 126 in the first term in office to 85 in the second term is still unprecedented.
In a related Development, Mr. Benjamin Yamoah has called on President Nana Akufo-Addo to create a Special Ministry for persons in Motorcycle (okada) Tricycle (Aboboyaa Pragia) meant for commercial purposes.
He noted Ghana cannot move without the services of these people due to the nature of roads and the unemployment situation in the Country.
