President of the Creative Arts Agency, Mark Okraku Mantey has been named as deputy Minister-designate for the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
The appointment of Mr. Okraku Mante who is a Music Producer and Programs Manager at Hitz FM did not come as a surprise as key industry players have tipped him for an appointment.
Mark Okraku Mante’s name is captured among the list of deputy ministers released from the Presidency on Wednesday, April 21, 2020.
Others nominees are Member of Parliament for the Sekondi constituency, Andrew Egyapa Mercer has been nominated as the deputy Energy Minister-designate while deputy Communications Director at the Presidency, Fatimatu Abubakar has been picked as the deputy Information.
MP for New Juaben South Michael Okyere Baafi and Herbert Krapa are deputy Ministers designate for Trade and Industry.
Musician and radio show host Blakk Rasta had said on Showbiz A-Z that Mark Okraku Mantey had said Mark Okraku Mante is not trustworthy therefore doesn’t deserve the position.
“I will rule out Mark Okraku Mantey totally, he is a guy I don’t trust. Obour is a nice person but I cannot be sure about how he handles money,” Blakk Rasta had said.
Chief Executive Officer of Slip Music, Mark Okraku Mantey, a few years ago took over as programs manager at Hitz 103.9 FM in Accra.
Mark is a renowned music producer and regular judge on TV3 Mentor.
He has produced over 80 albums from some of Ghana’s best musicians including Lord Kenya, Adane Best, Slim Buster, Oheneba Kissi, Nana Tuffour, Mr. Solomon, Kojo Akan, Swazi B, Joe Fraizer, George Jara, Ewura Esi, OD4, Okuraseni Samuel, Nana Yaw, Nana Yaw Kumi, Benji, Nana Yaw Asare, Felix Bell, Rev. Mensah Bonsu, and Ernest Addison.
His in-depth knowledge and experience is expected to guide him, and together with his sector Minister- Ibrahim Mohammed Awal, provide policy interventions that would elevate the creative arts and Tourism industry in Ghana
