Ghana`s COVID-19 death has increased from 806 to 812 and active cases have also jumped from 2,512 to 2,850 as of 14th July 2021.
Twelve others are in critical and 27 in severe condition, according to Ghana Health Service report.
There is a severe warning from the country’s National Case Management Coordinator for Severe and Critical covid-19 cases, Dr. Christian Owoo that Ghana’s critical cases are rising at an alarming rate.
At the Kotoka International Airport, 36,642 tests have been conducted and 1,999 have been confirmed positive, while the country test since March 2020 is 1,357,389.
To manage the spread, Ghana Health Service has outlined strategies to address it by enhancing risk communication at the community level, utilization of COVID-19 champions to rally support for adherence to protocols, and intensifying contact tracing.
Other measures are; stakeholders such as religious bodies, School authorities, organized groups, engaging of facility heads to revamp holding areas within facilities, enhancing triaging in health facilities, and other key stakeholders in COVID-19 fight.
