Aggrieved Cassava Farmers and Workers of Ayensu Starch Factory in Awutu Bawjiase in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region have today demonstrated against the management of the company over their inability to manage the company to discharge its mandate.
The demonstrators numbering about 300 demand immediate intervention to take over the factory from the Chief Executive Officer of Jospong Group, Mr Joseph Siaw Agyapong.
Account Officer of the Ayensu Starch Factory, Yaw Ofori Asante speaking to Bryt FM News Correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah said the company have stopped Operation for more than two years now, hence his inability to pay the workers neither paying for utility bills.
Some of the Demonstrators who are particularly Farmers speaking to Bryt FM News stressed that Mr Joseph Siaw Agyapong has disrespected them by dumping and going to China to bring people to come and plant cassava.
They also revealed that the closure of the factory has resulted in breakups in their marriages hence turning into drunkards.
Meanwhile, District Chief Executive for the Awutu Senya West District, Hon Stephen Kwame Quaye after receiving the petition from the demonstrators he called for calm as he is ever ready to take it to authorities who matters.
