Constitutional lawyer, Lawyer Paul Kumi has affirmed that the “gunshot attack” stunt pulled by Ghanaian dancehall Artiste, Charles Nii Armah, popularly known as Shatta Wale is unjustifiable.
The Artiste feigned a shooting attack after a pastor prophesied that he was going to be shot on a particular day.
The 37-year-old artiste who has been arrested for causing fear and panic explained that he planned the attack on himself for safety reasons.
According to Lawyer Paul Kumi, his act is against the law and was not in the right direction because his team published false information which caused fear and panic.
“What he did is against the law, even if he was scared he shouldn’t have reacted in that manner to cause chaos in the country”, he said.
The lawyer educated that; the prophet’s arrest could be for causing fear in Shatta Wale, his team, and his fans all over.
“I don’t think a pastor can be arrested for his predictions or prophesy, I think he can only be charged with causing fear but not for his words”, he added.
He highlighted that the artiste could have reported the case to the Ghana Police Service instead of taking the laws into his hands.
“He should have reported the pastor for what he said, if he didn’t like what the pastor said he should have let the police arrest him”, he stressed.
