The Presiding Bishop for Methodist Church, Most Reverend Dr. Paul Kwabena Boafo, has shed more light on the outcome of the meeting between the Inspector-General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare, and the leaders of Faith-based organizations in Accra.
According to him, the meeting was purposely for the management of prophecies by pastors which sometimes poses a threat to the security system in the country.
“It is not bad to prophesy but most pastors like to give out death prophesies which causes fear in the country”, he said.
Speaking in an interview with Abena Opokua Ahwenee on Dadi FM, he stressed that; Prophecies should not only be about death. Some prophecies can be about developmental revelations and issues that can help the country in several ways other than death.
He added that the IGP is not against Religion or prophecies but he intends to urge pastors to manage the way they spread the prophecies on social media.
He emphasized that, since prophecies need to be justified, pastors or religious people should not always publish their prophecies on social media.
“As Christians we must learn to manage prophesies because once you post your prophesy on social media you can be sued and asked to justify your claims”
