Health Promotion Officers across Ghana have been urged to remain proactive in identifying and responding to rumours, misinformation and disinformation as the country prepares to operationalise the National Behavioural Intelligence and Infodemic Management (BIIM) System.
At the close of a three-day capacity-building workshop, participants were encouraged to apply the skills acquired to strengthen community engagement, build public trust and support evidence-based public health decision-making.
The training, delivered with support from the ECOWAS Regional Centre for Surveillance and Disease Control (ECOWAS RCSDC) and the National Public Health Agency of Sierra Leone, also equipped participants with tablets and infodemic management guidelines to support BIIM implementation across the 16 regions.
