Ghanaians have been urged to embrace the digitization agenda of the Akufo-Addo led government spearheaded by the Vice President, Dr. Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia.
According to Government Spokesperson Abdul El Samed, the issue of digitalization cannot be over-emphasized in the development of every economy in this modern world and was an optimistic effort by the government would be beneficial to the country.
Speaking on Bryt FM’s political show ‘EBESI SEN’ on Thursday evening, Hon. Samed emphasized that Ghana has seen tremendous improvement in our digitization since 2017 when the New Patriotic Party took power from the previous National Democratic Congress.
He mentioned the digital address system, the mobile money interoperability, the electronic system, and many other initiatives have contributed a lot to the development of the economy over the past years.
He added that the digitization agenda spearheaded by the Vice President would have a positive impact on the economy such as, widening the tax net, reducing bureaucracy, reducing crime, saving time of doing business as well as many others.
The Spokesperson who is also an appointee at the New Juaben North municipality, however, appealed to Ghanaians not to heed the propaganda agenda of the opposition National Democratic Congress as it has nothing good to offer as an alternative.
Meanwhile, a Social Commentator Rev. Joseph Afrifa, on his part urged both the ruling New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress to appreciate each other when necessary to see to the development that we want.
He also, admitted that the digitization agenda by the government has helped a lot and called on all Ghanaians to support such policies as its benefit is enormous.
