Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko goal machine Eric Bekoe says the Ghana Premier League (GPL) currently lack quality players to make it more competitive.
According to him, the GPL does not have many quality players as compared to the previous years and for that matter, urging fans to desist from retiring players before their time.
He was of the view that the quality of play in the league could improve with the blend of experienced and young players as he believes their presence could help develop them well.
“For now, the quality is not there so we are relying on quantity to see if it can work”
“Though there are good players we cannot compare to previous years. In the days of Ishmael Addo at Hearts of Oak, youngster Mathew Cudjoe would have found it difficult to play for the senior team because the quality at the time was superb” he said.
