Five passengers including two females and three males have died in a fatal accident involving three vehicles at Anyinasin junction stretch of Accra to Kumasi highway.
The injured victims have been rushed to Kibi Government Hospital while bodies of the deceased deposited at the same facility.
The accident occurred on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at about 9:00am.
A former Assembly Member for Anyinasin, Isaac Okyere alias Pysco told mybrytfmonline.com that an unregistered Corolla vehicle from Kumasi’s direction made wrongful overtaking and drove past a stationary cargo truck in the middle of the road.
However, in the process, got into the lane of the oncoming vehicles and collided head-on with the Pathfinder from the opposite direction while the Toyota Hiace bus with passengers aboard also crashed and somersaulted many times.
According to the former assembly member, five passengers aboard the Toyota Hiace died instantly.
All the injured victims are currently receiving emergency treatment at the Kibi government hospital.
The Kibi Police MTTD personnel are at the scene assisting to tow away the accident vehicles and the stationary cargo truck for free flow of traffic.
