The leadership of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) directed all its members to get ready and resume work on Monday, 24th January 2022 as they have called off the indefinite strike it declared beginning today, Thursday, 20th January.
a statement issued by the association, which is signed by its Executive Secretary, Isaac Bampoe Addo said the National Executive Council at a meeting today had reviewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Government and CLOGSAG and has therefore decided to call off the Strike.
The statement said the National Executive Council of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana, at its meeting held on Thursday, 20th January 202 reviewed the Memorandum of understanding between the Government and CLOSAG, therefore, their strike is called off.
Before the strike, the Association said over a year after their proposed salary structure was sent to the Finance Ministry to deal with it, they are yet to communicate anything to them despite persistent reminders.
Members of the association in all ministries, government agencies, and departments, have been charged by their leadership to boycott work until further notice.
“This is to confirm the National Executive Council (NEC) decision that from 20 January 2022, the Civil and Local Government Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) will embark on a nationwide strike to press home their demand for better conditions of service. By this letter, all CLOGSAG members in the Ministries Departments, and Agencies, as well as the Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies are informed to stay at home from Thursday 20, January 2022 until further notice.”
“In a similar vein, by this letter, all Chief Directors, Heads of Departments, Regional Coordinating Directors, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Coordinating Directors are duly informed,” he added.
