The Priest of the Asuom Quasi Parish of the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Koforidua, Very Reverend Father Christopher Deh has called on Christians in the country to pray for the Lord’s intervention because some leaders have summoned Ghana to gods.
According to him, cursing has become “Food and Water” for some Ghanaian leaders who are role models and said it is dangerous to use tender and gods to curse each other on Radio and Television.
Speaking to members of the Catholic Youth Organization from Asuom Parish during the feast of Saint John Bosco in Akawani, Very Reverend Father Christopher Deh referred to recent curses from some political leaders over the missing Galamsey excavators and condemned those involved.
He said, “if you don’t know, I am telling you what I listen to Radio recently. Some leaders have taken cursing as daily food and water they eat and drink. Truthfulness is just one, those coming(Youth), open your eyes and be smart in prayers for Ghana because those invoking curses among themselves over the missing excavators have summoned the Country to gods and tender, what is coming to Ghana is not good, I am not trying to cause fear.”
The Priest urged the Youth to avoid cursing each other and called on them to leave exemplary life by allowing the Holy Spirit to empower them to say no to immoral acts and words that are unacceptable.
Father Deh told the Youth not to use any vow when they make a promise and do not swear by heaven, for it is God’s throne; nor by the earth, for it is the resting place for his feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
He added “Do not even swear by your head, because you cannot make a single hair white or black. Just say ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ — anything else you say comes from the Evil One.”
Moreover, father Deh challenged the Youth to lead a crusade to solicit funds to build worship centers for those in need in the Parish especially, members of the Akawani Catholic church.
