Kwasi Adu-Gyan, Bono East Regional Minister has urged people in the region who have not taken the COVID-19 jab to avail themselves especially pregnant women and children in order to protect themselves from the deadly virus.
According to him, from December 2021 which was declared as the COVID-19 vaccination month to 27th January 2022, the Bono East region has vaccinated 285, 029 out of the targeted 774, 063 people representing 36.8%.
Hon. Adu-Gyan made this disclosure in an interview during the Bono East Regional Launch of the National COVID-19 Vaccination Days Campaign in Techiman, with a target of vaccinating over 95,000 people within the stipulated five (5) days campaign period.
For his part, Dr Fred Adomako Boateng, Bono East Regional Director of Ghana Health Service revealed that the COVID-19 fatality or death rate in Bono East region is higher than even in Greater Accra and Kumasi, therefore “people should come out in their numbers for the vaccines especially within these campaign days that trained health professionals shall make them available at our doorsteps”.
