A motorbike rider and pillion passengers have died in a fatal crash near Anyinam on Accra to Kumasi Highway in Eastern Region.
The accident occurred on Friday, February 11, 2022, at about 1:20pm, when a rider Ibrahim Mamudu a resident of Anyinam aged 30 years was riding a Shadow motorbike with registration number M-21-AW 9976 with pillion rider Zibo Omar, 40, from Akim Enyiresi towards Anyinam direction.
On reaching a section of the road at Frimponso near Anyinam, the rider tried to overtake a leading vehicle but unfortunately collided with an oncoming Actros trailer with registration number GR 3775- 15 driven by Evans Asare from the opposite direction causing damages to both the vehicle and the motorbike.
The rider and pillion rider died on the spot.
The bodies of the deceased persons were conveyed and deposited at Enyiresi Govt Hospital morgue for Preservation and Autopsy.
The suspect driver, Evans Asare, was arrested but granted bail by police.
