Information gathered indicates that armed men numbering about 15 have besieged Nana Ampiawkoko Palace in Agona Nyarkrom near Swedru in the Agona West Municipality of the Central Region to vandalize the palace.
The rampaging gang wielding guns and machetes vandalized and ripped off the roofing sheets of the palace chased the head of the family and entire family members to the bush.
Sources say the well-built machomen invaded the palace to steal the black stool of the family and subsequently distool the Abusuapanyin of the Agona clan, Nana Kwame Darko.
It is not clear if hey we’re successful.
“All the rooms have been flooded including the head of the family’s bedroom, hall after heavy downpour” a witness narrated.
Correspondent Eric Ohene Amponsah reports that “Some of the residents called on IGP to deploy Police Personnel to the community to protect lives and properties because their Police Post has only three police officers at post”.
Meanwhile, Spokespersons for the Ampiawkoko Family, Nana Ekow Mensah said their lives are in danger and calling hence called for security protection.
Police Station Officer at Agona Nyarkrom confirmed the incident but failed to speak to Bryt Fm News.
