Exclusive information gathered indicates that personnel of the National SWAT team of the Ghana Police Service and an Instructor and armorer at Accra Police Depot are among eight suspects arrested in connection with rampant bullion Van robbery attacks in Accra.
The Ghana Police Service announced on Sunday that, its months of investigations have revealed that two Police Officers n involved in Bullion Van robberies in the country in recent times.
The Police in a statement noted the number of Bullion Van robberies in Accra including the infamous James Town attack which led to the killing of an officer saying the public will soon be briefed on details.
In June 2021 Police officer was shot dead by suspected armed robbers in an attack on a bullion van at Adedenpo near James Town in Accra Monday.
Mybrytnewsroom has established that eight (8) suspects have been arrested by the Police so far.
They were arrested after the prime suspect, identified as Pablo; a member of the national SWAT team was arrested at his hideout by residents of James town.
He was handed over to the police and tortured for two days before confessing. The police officer mentioned the name of an instructor at the Accra Police depot.
Six (6) other suspects arrested include the armorer at Accra Police depot.
Pablo is currently receiving treatment at the Police hospital in Accra.
