The Member of Parliament for Asuogyaman Thomas Ampem Nyarko as part of continued support to students in the Constituency has provided and fully stocked trunk and chop boxes with provisions to brilliant but needy students who excelled in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) as they leave their homes to continue their education at Senior High Schools.
Additionally, the MP also gave each of the first batches of 30 beneficiary student’s mattresses and promised to continuously support them while in school, and track their academic progress till they complete fulfillment of the bigger plan to ensure they progress to tertiary institutions to pursue various science and engineering-related courses.
Thomas Ampem Nyarko told the media, “earlier today I met some BECE graduates with their parents drawn mostly from deprived communities within my beloved Asuogyaman District. These are among pupils who have performed creditably and have gained admission to further their education at the various Senior High Schools across the country. The meeting was to congratulate them for their distinguished performance in their examination and to encourage them to do even better in their various Senior High Schools”.
The MP added “as part of my efforts to reduce the financial burden on the parents, I gave them Trunk boxes, Chop boxes, Mattresses, and Provisions. I also pledged to follow up on them regularly even in their various schools, to monitor their performances and support them until they finish their second cycle education”.
The Asuogyaman MP has over the years since becoming MP, provides hot meals every day to thousands of BECE candidates whenever sitting for their exams.
