Legendary Ghana forward Dan Owusu has reiterated his desire to train potent strikers for the Black Stars ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar.
The West African powerhouse has been drawn in Group H of this year’s global tournament, having qualified for the event after defeating Nigeria in the African playoffs.
The four-time African champions will face Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea in Group H.
The Black Stars take on Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal in the opening game.
Since the exclusion of Asamoah Gyan, Ghana has struggled in scoring goals during matches.
In an interview with Koforidua-based Bryt FM, Dan Owusu, who was adored by Ghanaians during his playing days as he was one of the finest talents in the Ghana Premier League in the 1970s says he can help the country to get potent attackers when given the chances to join the Black Stars team.
“I can help train potent strikers for the Black Stars when given the opportunity. It is about time the FA engage some of us. I was once a striker so I know what is involved when it comes to goal scoring”
“A lot goes into goal-scoring, so when you are not good enough you can be a good striker. During the AFCON, Egypt had former players on the technical which paid off for them. They had goalkeepers coach, defence coach, and strikers coach who are all former players of the national team and it yielded results”
Dan Owusu won the Ghana Premier League goal, king, on three occasions.
